Vintage fabric reimagined

At Lilac & Nettle I give old textiles a new life. Each piece begins with carefully sourced vintage and recycled fabrics, silks, linens and wools all with their own story. Rather than erasing their past, I embrace it with mindful repairs, added embroidery or patches.

Handmade in small batches, our cushions, waistcoats and accessories pair vintage fabric with dead stock or end of line lining fabric. Sustainability is really important to me and I try to make use of every last piece of a cloth by making accessories to enhance the range.

More about
our brand

Hi, I’m Lizzie, creative founder of Lilac & Nettle which was created to give a space to my ongoing recycle projects. It started with a cupboard full of beautifully embroidered tablecloths which were too small for most modern tables. I was keen to get them out of the cupboard and into use so that the beautiful craft, skill and love that went into creating them could be enjoyed once more. The collections are all unique, each piece telling its own story. Scuffs and scratches have been embroidered over, weaving them into a new story and new life for you to enjoy.
